UMP President Guides Students to Victory in NASA Student Launch
In June 2018, UMP President Joshua Moreno led students from Roosevelt High School’s Engineering & Technologies Academy (ETA) to a gold-medal victory at NASA’s Student Launch Competition in Huntsville, Alabama. Moreno provided year-round mentorship, guiding the team through designing, procuring, building, testing, and competing with their high-powered rocket. This hands-on support culminated in ETA’s first-ever gold medal, a testament to UMP’s commitment to fostering excellence in STEM education. The competition challenged students to apply engineering principles to real-world problems, and Moreno’s expertise was instrumental in their success.
